I am a dancer, but I always wanted to try something different. At my school you can only do cheerleading when you're in 7th grade. So this year they had tryouts. I was already nervous about them but when I found out that they made cuts throughout the week I was even more nervous. During the first day of tryouts I was not that nervous because you could tell who had past experience and who didn't so that made me feel a little better. There were helpers and they ran the groups so in each group you did something different. In the first group you did a chant and in the second group you did a cheer and in the next group you practiced you toe touches and your hurkeys and in the last group we did a dance combination. As the week went on I started to get tired and by the last day I just wanted to give up. I was also nervous because that was the day we had to perform in front of judges. But my mom told me I needed to go because if I had gotten this far I had a good shot. But the best part of this whole experience was...........I made the squad! That just goes to show... never give up!

Good for you Vickie! I am so happy for you. You are going to make a great cheerleader. Your mom will have to post some pictures of you cheerleading next year on her FB. :)

Congratulations Vickie! Sometimes Mom is right!
Of all the things I did in middle school, cheerleading was my favorite. I have really, really great memories of basketball games and football games as a cheerleader. You are in for some amazing good time! i am so glad you stuck it out to the end!
Way to go! Being a cheerleader is a lot of fun. I was a HS cheerleader for basketball and have lots of good memories of this experience. I know you will make lots of amazing memories as well! :) Lana
I love your blog! Can you make a post on how you designed it? I have one but it's kind of boring. Thanks!
My sweet angel Vickie,
Congratulations to you! I knew that you would stick it out and not give up. Way to hang in there day by day, and look at the outcome! Perseverance pays off! Remember, always believe in yourself! I believe in you!
Do you remember that I was a cheerleader?
Love,
