A couple days ago in class we had to do one of those county prompt writings, and usually, most kids would say, "Awww, man ". But not me, I was very excited because I absolutely love to write and I am pretty good at it. So as I sit there listening to my teacher explain how much time we have to write and plan, I am already planning inside my head. Finally after she was done talking, she said, "You may begin planning." Well, not me, you see, when I write I just don't plan. I plan as I go along. That is how I make my stories interesting and full of humor. Call me weird but, hey it works ,oh I forgot to mention that the prompt is to write to your parents to convince them to buy you a phone or to get you a better one. That was the perfect prompt for me because, you see, I am in middle school and all my friends have one and I don't see why I can't have one too. Life is just not fair!"STOP!" my teacher said. I had just finished the last word in my last sentence and boy was it a close one. As my teacher went around collecting the writings and the planning sheet, I thought to myself, "I could have put more detail into paragraph two." But for a 45 minute writing, I thought it was pretty good, and to say the least I was pleased with the outcome.

What do you think a perfect age for receiving a cell phone should be? What was your best reason? Just wondering...:)

Hey Vickie -- You've peaked my curiosity now. When (if) you get the paper back, I want you to post it here so we can all read your points. :) Share your writing with your readers!
The important thing is - Would your paper have convinced your parents to buy you a phone?
Vickie, I could just see your face light up when you read your prompt! This could not have been a more perfect prompt for you, and I am sure that you wrote a powerfully persuasive essay. So, did you share this essay with your parents? Did you get a cell phone? I am curious, so let me know! I want to read your essay if it was handed back to you.
Love,
Mrs. Lopez-Sinclair
